I'm somewhat inclined to call this an orb-weaver. Technically-speaking, all spiders can bite, and technically all spiders are venomous. They use venom to subdue their prey. BUT... that being said, the vast majority of spiders are very non-aggressive and will bite only if roughly dealt with. I would gently evict madam orb-weaver (after all, "Charlotte" in the book "Charlotte's Web" was an orb-weaver...!) into a more amenable location. She isn't very dangerous. If she sets up camp where you can see her, every evening you can go out and watch her spin her web. It's a fascinating and precise skill. Definitely pop some popcorn, pull up a chair and grab a flashlight and enjoy the show. It's mesmerizing. Really.. it is!!
