This bird is a juvenile as it was seen in the same area as a few adult males.

Probably not a molting male, as I have seen a bunch of the adult males around, and I assume they will all be molting at the same time.
Yeah, it's more than likely a young or molting male. There are few species this can be confused with. Hope that helps.
This bird was definitely photographed close to wetland (rice field) areas. However it does not look very similar to the Yellow-hooded blackbird on Wikipedia. Could it possibly be a juvenile? http://www.oiseaux-birds.com/card-yellow-hooded-blackbird.html
Yellow-headed Blackbirds do not have any range past southern Mexico in Central america. In South America you have the Yellow-hooded Blackbirds that prefer wetland type habitats.
