Field Notes

Description:

Greatly resembles bush katydids in the genus Scudderia, but smaller, with more oval head.

Habitat:

Deciduous forest interrupted by agricultural fields and rural townships.

Notes:

This female was attracted to outdoor lights at the Eulett Center. The species is not officially recorded from Ohio, though I have specimens collected in Cincinnati in the 1990s.
