Field Notes

Description:

This minute pale green spider would have been about 4 mm long ( excl. legs). I could barely see the central white pattern on the abdomen. Along one side of the abdomen and following a thin dark line were three dark spots. i assume there were similar spots on the other side.
Legs looked translucent and fragile.

Habitat:

Spotted on a eucalyptus leaf.

Notes:

This spider was very small and at first glance looked like a little green blob suspended over the leaf surface. The pattern on the abdomen looked that that of an orb weaver and the spots are similar to those seen in the genus Araniella. Possibly A. displicata. I am unsure about the ID and hope to get confirmation.
