Description:

Hydrocotyle umbellata, is an aquatic plant that thrives in wet, sandy habitat. Its English common name is manyflower marsh pennywort or dollarweed. It is native to North America and parts of South America. It can also be found growing as an introduced species and sometimes a noxious weed on other continents. It is an edible weed that can be used in salads or as a pot herb.[1][2][3] Leaves are nearly round and are 0.5 to 1.2 inches in diameter.

Habitat:

Water pennywort is usually found growing in water less than 2 inches deep. Dense stands may occasionally break loose and float in deeper water.

Spotted along canal banks at Okefenokee Swamp Park (Waycross entrance to Okefenokee NWR)
