Field Notes

Description:

Very low almost prostrate plant with sparse growth and having a few sprays of flowers as shown. Spring flowering

Habitat:

Very sandy soil on remnant dunes in Red Gum and Coachwood forest among the sparse leaf litter from Banksia reticulata (I think..)

Small Crowea

Crowea exalata

I think it is Eriostemon australasius which is from the same family http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eriostemon_australasius
Lori.tas. Thanks for the excellent research. I think you are correct in calling them Crowea but I do not think they are C. exalata as the leaves and petals are sharper and smaller. I have a line of research to follow now and I thank you. I have been trying to pin these down for a couple of years
