Field Notes

Description:

A medium-sized brown turtle with yellow markings. Brown eyes, dark brown skin withorange spots.

Habitat:

Forested area in my backyard, near an underground spring.

Notes:

Had to relocate her nearby to where she was found in order to prevent my dogs from attacking her. Was fpund flipped onto her back, but was otherwise completely fine.

I'm so angry I could vomit. I regret to say the neighborhood kids moved it well beyond its habitat, let it try to cross the street back to its den, and watched the turtle run over. This was an easily 15 year old turtle and I'm sickened how animals are just toys for children.
