Rainforest at around 1100 m.

Thanks Linnea and Felix. I assume a shield-backed bug is a shieldbug as I initially put. I am hoping that I can get a bit closer than that to an ID as it is so distinctive.
Nice find! It's actually a Shield-backed Bug in the Scutelleridae family.
It seems to be a Pentatominae of some kind: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentatomidae
