Field Notes

Description:

It is diurnal and arboreal gecko that is less than ten centimeters. It has an elongated shape covered with small red spots, rather aligned longitudinally, and marked on the head. It also presents two clear lines (beige or blue) on the side of the head, and a blue or green spot on the snout. Its members are often yellowish or whitish-brown.Females lay two eggs at a time, usually attached to an object (at the base of tree branches, typically). Incubation lasts from 6 10semaines.

At birth the pups do not eat before their first moult, which occurs in the following days. They then fed the same diet as adults. The pups are prey to many predators, including other lizards.

The adult female is slightly smaller than the male. It has two slight bulges more at the base of the tail housing hemipenes. The green lizard Manapany is both insectivorous (it feeds on small insects and other arthropods), nectarivore (it visits the flowers, papaya, banana, etc..) And frugivorous (he licks the pulp of ripe fruits such as the vacoa or mangoes
