Leaves in triplets; opposite; leaves have smooth edges (compared with leaves C. virginiana which have toothed edges)
Habitat:
Climbing on bushes as edge of reservoir
Notes:
Non-native (Asia). This is an invasive species.
Flowers are very similar to those of the native Virgin’s Bower (Clematis virginiana)
