Fossils - Fossils are the preserved remains or traces of animals, plants, and other organisms, from the remote past. The definition of a fossil, is the preserved remains, of a prehistoric organism. An example of a fossil, is the preserved remains from a prehistoric organism, that have been preserved inside rock. A remnant, impression, or trace of an animal or plant of a past geologic age, that has been preserved in the eartn's crust, is called a fossil.
