Cool, thanks for the update Anthony :)
I met up with some students from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University on Kings Beach this morning. They were seeking out Plough Shells for a study involving tracking the movement of the animals. They are spraying them with paint to aid tracking them. They used red and yellow paint in last years exercise. That explains the coloration I spotted last year. Mystery solved.
Good spotting Tony. Hope you find out the reason for the bright colours. Will be interesting.
31 March 2013 : I have added three more photographs of Plough Snails spotted on Kings Beach, Port Elizabeth. Note the bright coloration. I have never seen this before. Can anyone explain this?
