Field Notes

Description:

Red bloom of Manzanita during the 2015 California drought. There are also small berry like buds on the plant. I did not see these last year.

Habitat:

Mountain terrain, just below the tree line.

Notes:

The location is west of Summit Lake on the trail and the intersection of the granite outcrop. The location is north of the Highway on a hiking path.
