Field Notes

Description:

These monkeys are found near Kam Shan and Shing Mun Country Parks in Hong Kong. They are mainly Rhesus Macaque (Macaca mulatta). Some of them might be hybrid between Rhesus and Long-tailed Macaque (Macaca mulatta/Macaca fascicularis). They roam freely around the country parks and have learnt to snatch plastic bags from visitors for food.

Habitat:

The spotted packs live mainly in the forested area near Shing Mun Reservoir. They also occasionally enters nearby human settlements.

Notes:

Having a BBQ area in Shing Mun Country Park is a BAD idea.

Awesome photos! Please be sure to include a short description and habitat info with all your spottings. Not only does this make them more informative for users, it also increases your chances of getting SOTW or SOTD :)
