Description:

This succulent was spotted in a large pot on the grounds of the Government House in Sydney. I'm hoping someone can help with the ID.

Habitat:

Temperate sub-tropical.

Notes:

This interesting succulent is within 100 meters of the Sydney Opera House.

the fact the leave tips have been dying off is also evidence that it is or wasn't happy at some point.
If you had abnormal flooding rains (Sydney recently) and a pot so large as to be unmovable, even the RBS staff might not be able to deal with it ? ..just a theory... hope you get an ID for this one then.
Thanks all, I had figured it was an aloe of some variety. I doubt malnourishment or other negative factors are at work here as this plant is maintained by the royal botanical society.
Aloe... Colour be from malnourishment or climatic effects?
certainly an Aloe, I wouldn't like to comment on the species
