Field Notes

Description:

This skink is a medium size skink endemic to the Philippines.

Habitat:

These skinks are found through out the Philippines, and common around urban areas. This one was found near a extremely deep well, that was surrounded by dense vegatation from Monsoon rains.

Notes:

Very skittish skink, probably due to the feral cat issue in the area. I have been here for three years, and this is the closes I have gotten to them.

Beautiful!! This species has several common names, one of which is "common sun skink" which seems to fit your images better since there are no lines observable, as in the 3rd image here http://www.wildherps.com/species/M.multifasciata.html#balinensis Please note this is not an amphibian so I removed your spotting from the Amphibian mission and left it in the Reptiles mission. Also note that this species is found all over SE Asia so it is not endemic to (only found in) The Philippines. Cheers
Great pics ! Could you please write something about the habitat/place you saw this attractive skink. Thanks. Looks like it comes in various patterns and colours !
