Field Notes

Description:

Plant approximately 2 feet tall. Woody shrub with a single main stem, freely branched
Flowers are solitary, with 4 petals; radially symmetrical.
Two outer sepals, ovate or widely elliptical; inner sepals usually obsolete
Leaves are narrow, less than 1" long, & tapered at the base

Habitat:

Beside trail. Needs light; won’t grow/bloom in deep shade
