Description:
The Pod-sucking Bug or Bean Bug, Riptortus macleani Schaffner 1963 (Alydidae; Alydinae), is found in the Philippines and Caroline Islands. Its body length is about 2cm. It is brown with white-yellowish lines running along each side of its body. Its body is slim and narrower in the middle, with a sharp spine on each side of the thorax. It has strong spiny hind legs. Family Alydidae is also commonly known as the broad-headed bugs.
Habitat:
Backyard at Biñan, Laguna.
