Description:

These plants are called sakaraan by the Bedouin, a word that means “intoxicated” or “drunk”, describing the effects of this plant if ingested by humans. Visual hallucinations are a common effect. The plant is toxic, and sometimes fatal, for most animals, but there are some caterpillars that munch happily on its leaves. The plant has also been used medicinally.

Habitat:

sandy desert plains and wadis

Notes:

Hyoscyamus boveanus or Hyoscyamus muticus
