Hi Ronwyn, Nice spotting. Remember you have an international audience an Toti for them means nothing. It would be better to include the complete name: Amanzimtoti, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.

I would take the original picture of #3, do some cropping, so that the caterpillar is as big as possible, the reload it as #4 for example. I would go with Slug Moth Caterpillar as common name and Limacodidae as scientific name. If we will come closer later, you can change it quickly by editing the spotting.

It would help to see the markings a little bit better. Yours might be an earlier instar of Latoia vivida. But there are unfortunately a ton more Limacodidae genus/species around in RSA.
