Description:

A North American hawk with dark brown coloration above, bars on the tail, and brown spots on the white breast and sides.

Habitat:

northwest USA pine forests.

Thanks! I didn't realize that they didn't always have a red tail! Learned something new!
That's a beautiful Red-Tailed Hawk! He/she is a juvenile...the red tail will come in in the 2nd year. Great capture!
It isn't a Common Buzzard because from what I know, that is a European and Asian, not American species.
