Description:
Brown butterfly. Wingspan approximately 2.5 inches. Folds wings immediately upon landing to display underside of wings.
Lower side of forewing with the two end eyespots larger than the middle two; spots don’t touch. Dark line inside the hindwing row spot is sinuous, not zigzagged; the dark line zigzags on the Eyed Brown (Satyrodes Eurydice).
Habitat:
Resting on muscadine (Vitis rotundifolia) groundcover in deciduous woods
