Field Notes

Description:

Ordinarily, this butterfly is very evasive making it a tough sport. I had always wanted to get a shot of it on camera. A good opportunity came one morning when I noticed it fluttering about a grassy area. It was interested in the succulent and probably fermented grains on a branch of a tall elephant grass. The morning dew made the grains that way. This appeared to be a special treat for butterflies.

Habitat:

Humid areas with small bushes.
