Field Notes

Description:

Its horn is small so it must be a female.

Habitat:

Found it clinging to the screen door so I placed it on a palm tree.

Notes:

We call them "bagangan" in our local dialect. They are considered pests as adult beetles feed on palm trees, the larvae meanwhile feed on rotting organic matter. They are also sometimes eaten.
