Field Notes

Description:

Dark gray and red bug with red eyes. Most of the pronotum and edges of the wings (edge of corium and the entire cuneus) are red. There are faint red spots on the front femur near the tibia, the antenna scape and the ocellar spot. The rest of the wings, legs, antennae and head and are dark gray. The underside of the bug is a lighter gray.

Habitat:

Elderberry bush under an Oak Tree where oak woodland and chaparral meet. Found in California and Baja California
