Field Notes

Description:

I've seen dozens of geometrid caterpillars, but I never saw anything like this. This cat had its head firmly attached to its tail, forming a ring around a leaf's stem. Even when disturbed it refused to change its shape. Only when I touched it (gently, very gently...) it moved and streched its body (photos #4 and #5).
