Field Notes

Description:

A widespread leaf warbler that gets its name from its simple chiff chaff song. Wikipedia says small and dumpy and the photograph don't lie. This little bird has a pale/beige underpart while the back, wings and crown are a darker brown. The eyes are circled by a white ring and there is a dark brown/black stripe running from ear to beak.

Habitat:

Spotted outside my house in Mesaieed while darting up and down a tree, presumably hunting for insects.
