Field Notes
Description:
Aged wood-rotting bracket polypore found on a dead tree stump. Surface dried and cracked. Banding and colour not dissimilar to Rainbow Bracket (Trametes versicolor) also found in the area. These specimens were approx. 12-15 cms wide.
Habitat:
Found in a local park amongst bushland in leafy suburban Sydney. These specimens were found on a dead tree stump along a creek course.
Notes:
Here are two spottings of the same species found in separate locations in Queensland - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/528736015 and http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/229336019 Hopefully I have the correct ID for this spotting.
