Field Notes

Description:

A beautiful reddish brown in the summer and fall switching to a thicker grey coat for winter. Bucks (males) grow a set of antlers every year. Named to the bright white fur under their tails that they use for communication.

Habitat:

Forests and shrub-land preferably near a water source. Our deer enclosure has rolling grassy hills and backs onto our wetlands. There are mature trees for shade and a barn for added shelter.

Notes:

Orphaned deer were the first animals brought to our Wildlife Park back in the 1950s and we grew from their.
