Field Notes

Habitat:

Deciduous forest and mixed forest are the preferred summer habitats. On migration, look for them in any forest or woodlot. They winter in forests and forest edges from Florida to Colombia.

Notes:

Spotted hunting for bugs on the bark of a Mesquite. I was sitting under the tree looking at some Pine Warblers on the ground. (There was also at least one Yellow-rumped and a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher in the same area.) After a while it ignored me and came quite close.
