Field Notes

Description:

Also known as Turkish gecko, this is a small gecko, about 10cm total in length, transparent-like rose-brownish in colour, with blackish pattern. This poor fellow slipped from the wall and fell in this bowl - to the delight and curiosity of all our kids. It was released later on, carefully examined from all sides, but unharmed and untouched... We believed this was not the worst encounter this fellow suffered, judging by his tail...

Habitat:

Found in our house, located at periphery of Dubrovnik. This is still an urban area, but surrounded by a typical Mediterranean garden in urban setting: series of terrasses occupied by few fruit trees, and quite dry at this time of the year, as we do not irrigate.
