Field Notes

Description:

For some reason (that I don't know why) have a lot of dead ants around the hive. Maybe the Jataí bees killed, maybe have some anti-ant substance in the wax bee or just a type of hazard sign for predators... Someone knows better?

Habitat:

I found this hive in a tree on the edge of the river that across my city, in a island, in a region of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest
