Species ID Suggestions

Southern Sicklewing

Achlyodes mithridates thraso

Bayucca, the link you provided exemplifies the problems I face when trying to ID insects. First it tells that "Butterflies in the genus Achlyodes are known variously as Batwings, Bat Skippers or Sicklewings. There are 5 species : (...); mithridates - found on most Caribbean islands and on the mainland from Texas to Peru; (...). Ahead it states that "The southern subspecies thraso occurs from Costa Rica to Peru". It happens that Curitiba, my home town is very, very far from Peru, and I probably would skip it when looking for an ID for this skipper. Now that I know its name, I'll look for other info about it, trying to know if this is the first time it was found here.
Thank you, Bayucca. Any clue about this one: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/17587199 ?
Very beautiful. It is time for you to publish your own book! ;-)
