Field Notes

Description:

A sexually dimorphic dragonfly, characterized by the gray stripes on the thorax that end with yellow dots. Male has red rings on abdomen, red veins on leading edge of wing. Female has yellow-gold rings on abdomen.

Habitat:

Seen in the grasses in a field a little ways from a spring-fed creek.
