Description:

Nymphalidae; Nymphalinae; Heliconiini; Cupha arias arias C.& R. Felder 1867. According to Wikipedia, this ssp. is present in Northern Philippines - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cupha_arias. More detailed distribution information is provided in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_butterflies_of_the_Philippines. In simple terms, Cupha arias arias is endemic to the area I live in, the Island of Luzon.

Habitat:

Spotted in foliage at the side of a narrow track. The area is sparsely populated and mostly covered by remnants of tropical forest.
