What a beauty Stephen! It could be in the genus Precis; there are two species endemic to Madagascar, but little info I could find with what was just a quick search: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Precis_(butterfly) See below for a similar continental butterfly in this genus: http://www.learnaboutbutterflies.com/Africa%20-%20Precis%20limnoria.htm I hope someone else can help further or has an alternative.
