Field Notes

Description:

Medium-sized hummingbird, at about 10cm length. Grey/brown back and wings, with white throat, chest, and belly. The brilliant violet feqthers on top of the head give it its name.

Habitat:

City park in semi-arid region, at about 1800 meters above sea level.
