Description:

Spotted Hyena and as it is a predator with razor-sharp teeth.
The large head, sloping back and a keen sense of smell is unique to this species. Spotted Hyena is both - an efficient hunter and a scavenger. Spotted hyena society is matriarchal; females are larger than males, and dominate them.

Habitat:

Sub-saharan Africa

Notes:

this young hyena I found in kruger NP.
Females(?) The Spotted Hyena is well known for its macabre chuckle or “laugh”, which is an indispensable sound of the African bush at night.
