Field Notes

Description:

Bluebirds are a small thrush with a big, rounded head, large eye, plump body, and alert posture. The wings are long, but the tail and legs are fairly short. The bill is short and straight. Male Eastern Bluebirds are vivid, deep blue above and rusty or brick-red on the throat and breast.

Habitat:

In a tree along a creek in a neighborhood park.

Thanks venus. The weather and light was poor, but some of the other birds cooperated. My philosophy is as long as they are recognizable I put them up. I figure the purpose is to record the species not my photography skills or timing, which are limited. :)

nice spotting gatorfellows. in a way i am relieved to see that i'm not the only one with this problem. several of my spots don't turn out well because the stupid bird won't move his eye from behind the tree branch! :D anyway, nicely done, keep up the good work!
