Wow! I've only seen one of these my whole life
Great looking insect, Looks like a cross between a fly and a mantis. So amazing.
Lol @ elbows. There have been at least two species show up here http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/18009090 is one that might have been easily missed except it was sitting on a curtain by the computer demanding to be photographed. I am not certain of the id on this. Brisbane insects has done an awesome job of putting species online but they have a limited palette to work with.
Interesting looking fly.
The three on the link to Brisbane all look a but different. I've only seen one species in Melbourne. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/8190334 Looks like his elbows on the table.
