Description:

On August 18, 2015, I spotted some green caterpillars on a Madagascar Rosy Periwinkle plant. Searching for Hawk Moth caterpillars, the closest match I obtained was the Oleander Hawk Moth caterpillars but I wasn't sure.. Here's the link to the photos of the caterpillar. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/1793026006

Yesterday, 07 September 2015, about 4 PM I spotted four cocoons near the Madagascar Rosy Periwinkle plant that I found the caterpillars on. I collected four cocoons,. Three of the four looked like this one shown here, with the black line down the body with the row of spots down the body also. Doing a search of hawk moth cocoons, this one looked like the cocoons of Oleander Hawk Moths, which was no surprise. The fourth cocoon looked a little different from these three. The fourth cocoon is my next photo submission.

Habitat:

In small garden area underneath and around a Madagascar Rosy Periwinkle plant.
