Description:
The Brazilian free-tailed bat, also known as the Mexican free-tailed bat and Austonian bridge bat is a very common bat. It is a larger bat with a free ranged tail. It has large feet and ears and a jet black color. The Brazilian free-tailed bat has an essential role in ecosystems because of its role as a predator and pollination.

Habitat:
The Tadarida brasiliensis has a wide geographical range of habitats. They are present in most parts of South America, through Central America, and all throughout the south east, mid west, and south west of the USA.
Notes:
A bat habitat spotting. It is unclear of what species of bat is present, but guano and signs of use are present. The habitat is in a grassy, swampy land adjacent to a lake.

The free-tailed bat especially is useful for farmers as it healthily regulates crop destroying insects.
