Description:

Brown caps and gills. Veil remnants still present over the gills. The caps were slightly fuzzy.

Habitat:

On white birch in mixed forest after lots of rain

Thanks Brian. Someone in one of my mushroom groups suggested Tectella patellaris. I think the veil remnants shown in my picture might exclude Crepidotus... Not too sure though. I do think Tectella looks a bit closer considering gill color and the veil remnants.
Great find machi! Check out the Genus Crepidotus, espicially Crepidotus fusisporus and Crepidotus abietinus they are both known to grow on birch, but there could be others as well.
