Field Notes

Description:

Beautifle white egret with yellow lore, black beak, silky white feathers, black legs and yellow feet.

Habitat:

Bolsa Chica, Wetlands. They love to hang out in the pickle weed, hunting for fish.

Notes:

Always nice to see these hanging out in the pickleweed, as they stalk their prey. Very cool to see it puff up it's feathers, like in the photo above. with the help of the early conservationists, this bird now lives freely throughout North and South America.
