A large very dark brown hawk sitting on a telephone pole.

Habitat:

Farmland, scattered trees around fields.

Thank you, Joshua. I did notice the rufous underparts. I wish I had had my real camera with me, but I was driving outside of town, pulled over real quick, and snapped some pictures with my phone. It works I guess.
The yellow upper bill and rufous underparts are good indicators. A great bird to find.
Common black hawk? I don't think they would go up north that far though.
