Description:

Another of the several Firefly species present in the San Cristobal valley. This one is about 8 mm in length. It is very different from the other species in size and in that it has only the 5th abdominal segment with a small median light organ (see last picture). Family Lampyridae.

Habitat:

Photographed on a wall at night, semi-rural residential area, San Cristobal de Las Casas, Chiapas, Mexico 2,200 meters.
