A fly as big as the honey bee Apis indica. Unusual light brown hair where wings are attached to the body.

Habitat:

Western Himalayas.

Hi Harsha, I think this fly looks a lot like a species of Tachinid Fly, Family Tachinidae. They can be large and usually have hairy abdomens. Even though this is a reference for North American Tachinids, I think it will be helpful for you: http://www.nadsdiptera.org/Tach/Gen/tachintr.htm I am having a hard time finding a good online reference for Indian insects.
