Field Notes

Description:

Wasp-mimic longhorn of about 15mm body length. Black with yellow markings and red legs. Looking at pictures, the genus Clytus comes up. However, this seems to be a European genus and the markings don't quite match (head and thorax).

Habitat:

Found in 'El Cimatario', a national park in semi-arid area just outside the city. The rainy season is now in full swing and many animals are venturing out.

It looks like you found it! Nice researching.
Thanks, ForestDragon and sonofives, but I think it's something different.
Have you considered the genus Megacyllene? Some species like the M. robiniae are quite similar in appearance to your spotting
Perhaps something from Genus Megacyllene? I'm not familiar with the Mexican species within this genus.
