Description:
This was at a private house in Tobago which offers visitors to the island the opportunity to iew these beautiful birds up close. They are attracted to the sugar water feeders that the couple put out. this one is a large hummingbird that breeds in northeastern Venezuela and Tobago. It was thought to have become extinct in Tobago after hurricane Flora in 1963, but the population has now largely recovered.
Habitat:
Forests of venezuela and Tobago with this one being spotted at Speyside in Tobago.
Notes:
The white part of her tail can just be seen in photos 2 and 3, we can tell this is a female as there is no white moustachial stripe present.
