Field Notes

Description:

Adults: has two thick yellow stripes across the thorax and two rows of vertical and diagonal lines on the abdomen. Larvae: green maggots with an orange spot slightly raised from the rest of the body on a stock near vent (notice the stock on the highest part of the cocoon). They feed off plant parasites like aphids.

Habitat:

Common in North Amarica.

Notes:

Mimics yellow jackets.
